A very good breakdown of what works about Wave. A lot of people have been coming at it from the wrong direction, people for whom most of their interactions are with small teams or between individuals. People are complaining it is too complex. What they don’t understand that it’s a vast simplification compared to communication in a corporate environment. It’s entirely routine for me in an average workday to be suddenly roped into long email reply chains that I then must read in the entirety just to figure out what the heck is going on and what I need to do about it. And forget any context. Some decisions or comments will appear to have appeared out of the blue, fed in from branching conversations. Wave could fix a lot of this, just by having it all in one clearly annotated document.
Some folks have focused on the live typing feature. Yes, this is dumb. Yes, it should go away. But let’s not throw the baby, even if it’s not for you to raise, out with the bathwater.
